Winners, performances and everything you missed at the 2020 VMAs!
Last night MTV proceeded with the 2020 Video Music Awards despite the impact of the COVID 19 pandemic on public events and safety. The show, hosted by Keke Palmer took place “on top of the Empire State building,” or in front of a green screen in the city, was complete with performances from our favorites and celebrity appearances. However the show infamous for exciting interactions, impromptu moments and overall excitement, lacked the normalcy of a normal award show with the revemp of digital green screens, prerecorded performances and stream of fans who applauded from web cam in their apartments.

The show was kicked off with a performance from the Weeknd of “Blinding Lights” over the infamous Hudson river. The Weeknd was one of the nights leading winners claiming the moon person for. Another one of the nights notable winners was Lady Gaga who claimed the moon persons for and. Whether Gaga was one of the ones crazy or willing enough to show up to the VMAs during a pandemic, it became obvious that she was the night’s biggest star as she continued to claim awards in various cheek and mask-friendly outfits. Along with her exciting performance of “Alice,” “Rain on Me” featuring Ariana Grande and “Stupid Love” came performances from Keke Palmer, Miley Cyrus, BTS, Doja Cat amongst a few others. The night ended with the nights biggest and possibly only “WTF moment” with a crotch-lighting performance that left social media questioning the existence of past member Fergie.
