New Music: Frank Ocean – “In My Room”
Frank Ocean continues to roll out new era with "In My Room".
After ending his nearly 3-year hiatus with “DHL”, Frank Ocean keeps the momentum going with a brand new single titled “In My Room”. “In My Room” is a bouncy track that finds Ocean spitting about his rich and lavish lifestyle.”No sleeper seats, that’s a mattress / No sleeper seats that’s a mattress / You ain’t stingy, split your tables with me / you won’t flinch when cameras flashing, flashing,” he croons. I’m addition to flexing over the Michael Uzowuru production, Frank also deals with the effects of fame. “That kind of coffin don’t need lean, rest in peace / Got this list for life in me / Horny for the game / First they kiss, then they bite, then that bitch want to play it off,” he continues. Once again, we find Frank providing revolutionary R&B and hip hop sounds while providing that special representation we can all appreciate.
Song of the Day: Frank Ocean Returns with “DHL”
The last time we heard from Ocean was back in 2016 with the back-to-back albums Endless and Blonde. Since then, Ocean released a few tracks including “Chanel,” and “Biking” via Apple’s blonded RADIO. Despite finishing his fifth album at the end of 2017 and promising to release 5 albums before he turned 30, Frank’s dirty-thirty came and went without any projects. Fast forward a year, the “Novacane” singer debuts the original single at the end of his latest blonded RADIO on October 19th, 2019. At the bottom of the “In My Room” single art, there are 13 pictures printed in bold. The fifth one is selected, which might imply that this is track number 5 on his 13-track album. “I’ve been interested in club, and the many different iterations of nightlife for music and songs,” he said. “And so the things I look at now have a lot to do with those scenes: Detroit, Chicago, techno, house, French electronic… I grew up in New Orleans, so the closest to the nightlife scene for me was New Orleans bounce, and that was a lot of trends,” Ocean explained on the direction of the forthcoming project. Definitely looking forward to this overdue project.
Following “DHL,” “In My Room” continues to resonate with smooth sounds and content that we’ve been waiting for! There currently isn’t any information on the release of this highly anticipated project. Check out Frank Ocean’s “In My Room” below!
