New MV: Soulja Boy Follows Up With “New Drip”

After storming Power 105.1’s Breakfast Club with claims that he had the biggest comeback of 2018 while inspiring today’s biggest artists including Drake and the Migos, the “Crank That” superstar returns to the scene with a brand new feel titled “New Drip”. Over a club-banging Outxhello and Dilip production Young Draco flexes his riches and his current “clout” in the industry. “Hop in Bugatti, push it to the maximum / Young Drako, nigga I’m drippin’ blood just like Dracula / In the kitchen, in the trap with a spatula / Whippin’ up dope, it’s looking spectacular,” he spits. “I got that new drip / Shooter pop out with the pool stick / FNN, Draco, extended 30 and it sittin’ on my hip / Thirty-five thousand for the brand new Rollie, wrist,” he continues on the chorus. “New Drip” serves as the lead single off of Soulja’s new mixtape FUEGO but how does it compare to his hip-hop competitors? There’s no doubt that Soulja influenced a wave of marketing magic through digital production in the early 2000s but to say that he’s responsible for the current sounds coming from the new school is an exaggeration. In fact, “New Drip” sounds like Soulja Boy is hopping on the new wave for “clout” which would make him a swagger jacker, or one could say a troll? Either way, Young Draco isn’t showing any signs of dropping the ball. The release of Fuego comes roughly two weeks after he released his last mixtape (one that I was unaware of), Swag 2.
