New MV: Eminem – “River” ft. Ed Sheeran
After delivering visuals to “Walk On Water” featuring Beyonce, Eminem follows-up with visuals to Revival track “River” featuring Ed Sheeran. “River”, one of the best tracks off the album, finds Eminem exploring a failing relationship amongst an abortion. “Knife in hand, says their relationship’s hangin’ by a strand / So she’s been on the web lately / Says maybe she’ll be my Gwen Stacy, to spite her man / And I know she’s using me to try to play him, I don’t care,” he spits. “I’ve been a liar, been a thief / Been a lover, been a cheat / All my sins need holy water, feel it washing over me,” Sheeran continues on the chorus. In the video, we see the couple’s relationship unfold amongst testimonies from the duo, Sheeran, and the lover’s boyfriend. The video ends with Em reflecting on what the song means to him. “What the song means to me is something that I feel I needed to get off my chest,” he explains. Eminem’s 2017 album Revival met a ton of critical reception. Despite all the criticism, Slim Shady is still one of the best rappers alive! What do you think?
