New Music: Major Lazer Plugs In PND & Nicki Minaj For “Run Up”
Major Lazer has been killing it with his most recent star-studded collaborations (ie. “Cold Water” ft. Justin Bieber and “Lean On” ft. MØ.) The electronic master kicks off the year with another major collaboration titled “Run- Up”. The brand new single, which follows the most recent trend of the dancehall genre, features heavy hitters PartyNextDoor and Nicki Minaj. “Never gonna not not hit that, your lovin’ is just too deep / When you gon’ come to me, yeah / And every time you hit my phone, and say you need company, oh / I’ma run up on you,” PND croons on the hook. After running-up on his girl, Nicki Minaj lays down a verse of her own, “I told ’em pull up on me faster than Danica / That’s on Allah, I’m tryna blow him like harmonicas / He call me queen, he know Nicki is the moniker /He want a mix between Hillary and Monica,” she spits. “Run Up” along with “Cold Water” are both cuts off of Major Lazer’s forthcoming album Music Is The Weapon. The new album features collaborations with Gwen Stefani, The Weeknd, Justin Bieber, Sia, Bonnie McKee, Travis Scott, Camila Cabello, and MØ. Always ready for new sounds from Major Lazer.
