New MV: Jhene Aiko Is A “Maniac”

Jhene Aiko is a maniac! The R&B singer returned to the scene with a new single titled “Maniac”. The single finds Jhene setting the mood with explicit lyrics and this time she’s not just talking about the groceries. “Hop on the d**k like a maniac / Head like a brainiac / Gotta read the sign like a zodiac / I’m a lowkey freak, you don’t know me yet,” she spits on the first verse. “Good head, got a little bite to it / Little booty, got a little bounce to it / We could go all damn night to it / Wife that, gon’ throw rice to it,” she continues over the tight production. In the dark, sexy and seductive video, Jhene plays a mental patient that finds her own cure. “When I started putting together the concept for the ‘Maniac’ visual, I wanted to explore what it meant to be manic,” she tells Rolling Stone. “Ironically, I released ‘Maniac’ at a time where I had recently been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, so my interest in the research was genuine,” she continues. “Maniac” serves as the first single off of the follow-up to 2014’s Souled Out. Released after a video teaser, “Maniac” is likely the first single from Aiko’s forthcoming Souled Out follow-up.
