Nice isn’t the only rapper creating a buzz for his freestyling skills! This past December Central Falls’ very own Verzatyl had the chance to freestyle for Grammy nominated rapper Tory Lanez outside of Lupos after the I Told You tour in Providence, Rhode Island. In the video, we see Verz rapping for Tory and his entourage. “Fear who I am, I exist in a glass house / rappers get a light bulb, this is looking like a black out / I apply pressure, apply pressure until they tap out,” he spits. Tory’s reaction at the end was priceless, leaving Verz with some words of encouragement that he will never forget! “Don’t stop! Don’t ever lose that! You definitely have something,” Tory explained. Verz is using this experience to fuel the release of his forthcoming sophomore project Fly Intellectual Rap, in which he considers not only a title, but both a brand and genre! “It’s lyrical meet style. It’s bringing together the two worlds of hip-hop that are sometimes separated. I want to show people that you can still say profound things while being creative. Being conscious does not have to be boring. I can’t wait to give the world this project,”. Fly Intellectual Rap, due for release later this year, follows Verz’s 2014 project Even Kings Dream.
