New MV: Drake – “Sneakin” ft. 21 Savage

screen-shot-2016-11-16-at-9-41-20-am screen-shot-2016-11-16-at-9-43-02-amIts been almost a month since Drake announced his new album More Life. The self-proclaimed playlist, and not mixtape, is due in December and will contain original music. The announcement came during a special birthday episode of OVOSOUND RADIO on Sunday (Oct. 23), where Drake premiered 4 brand new tracks. The tracks included “2 Birds, One Stone”,  a hard-hitting track featuring 21 Savage titled “Sneakin”, a smooth number that finds Drake crooning about “Fake Love” and finally a remix of “Wanna Know,” a buzzing track from 17-year-old London emcee Dave aka Santan Dave (maybe another ILoveMakonnen, Majid Jordan story). The 4 tracks as a collective showcase a new direction for the rapper, who’s last album, Views, most recently surpassed 1 Billion streams on Apple Music.

New Album: Drake Teases ‘More Life’ With 4 New Songs

Today Drizzy releases visuals to the album’s first gem “Sneakin” featuring 21 Savage. The track finds both rappers spitting about their successes among lavish lifestyle. “This is all God’s doing, man, you can’t plan it / But if the devil’s in the details, then I’m satanic,” he spits over the club heavy London On Da Track production. “Niggas keep reaching and dissent’ / Can’t afford mistakes, not on this end / Make me call my bros for assistance / You gon’ make me call my bros for assistance,” he continues on the hook.  “Baby, I’m a savage, I ain’t romantic / When I come around these rappers, niggas start to panic / And they pockets goin’ under like the Titanic / Got some head last night and it was outstanding,” Savage sits on his verse. In the low-fi visual, Drizzy and Savage take us to a hyped up party scene in the Calabasas.

More Life will follow Drake’s highly successful 2016 project Views. In true Drake-fashion, the influential rapper evolves delivering a smooth, stripped down sound for the winter. I’m definitely looking forward to more music from Drake. It’s always interesting to see/hear the response to his work. However, I can not wait for the Canadian rapper to surprise us with something well-developed and much more hard-hitting than his earlier work. More Life is due for release this December.
