New MV: The Weeknd – “Starboy”

Just a few days after releasing his sophomore follow-up Starboy, The Weeknd releases visuals to his lead single with the same name. “Starboy”, which features Daft Punk, finds Abel boasting about his superstar status and large cash flow. “Let a nigga Brad Pitt / Legend of the fall took the year like a bandit / Buy my ma a crib and a brand new wagon /Now she hit the grocery shop looking lavish,” he sings over the production. “Look what you’ve done/ Im a motherf**king starboy,” he continues. In the symbolic music video, The Weeknd, kills off the Abel we knew before transforming into a “star boy”. After destroying all of his plaques and accolades the singer hits the Hollywood Hills with a black panther. The video is dark and glamorous! Everything we expect from the singer!

New Music: The Weeknd Returns With “Starboy” ft. Daft Punk

“Starboy” sets the pace for The Weeknd’s forthcoming album of the same name. “I think it’ll be the best-sounding album I’ve ever done,” he told VMAN. “It’s hard to label the sound because, when I first came out, nobody would label it R&B. I just want to keep pushing the envelope without it feeling forced.” Starboy is due for release November 25th. I’m really looking forward to the next chapter for The Weeknd! I’ve been rocking with Abel since the House Of Balloons days so it’s definitely exciting to see him grow! Especially with the success of Beauty Behind The Madness!
