Lady Gaga is back in action! After returning to the scene with her new single “Perfect Illusion”, the pop singer is catching headlines as they relate to the prestigious Superbowl Halftime Show! According to Billboard Gaga is in talks for the 51st annual football showdown, scheduled for Feb. 5, 2017 at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas. Last year, Gaga opened up the Super Bowl with a well-recieved performance of the National Anthem. “We have had conversations with several fantastic artists about the Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show. However, at this point we do not have a final decision,” an NFL rep told Billboard when asked about Gaga. “We’re happy there is so much excitement about the show.” I think Gaga would be an amazing performer. Not only is she a spectacle but she’s hella talented! We’ve seen her master the pop scene, the jazz genre and everything in between.
Nowadays, Gaga is taking a shot at the rock genre. Along with the new single and new image comes her fourth studio album Joanne. “This was a new step for me as an artist! I think mostly because I felt so embraced by contemporary boys in the business who are real kind of music nerds,” she explained in a recent interview. The album is named after Gaga’s aunt who recently passed away.“It’s so personal! Every single song…is extremely autobiographical,” she continued. The highly anticipated album includes collaborations with Florence Welch of Florence + The Machine, Beck and Father John Misty. I’m so excited that Mother Monster is back at it again! Joanne is due for release October 21st!
