ICYMI: Almty Ceez – “Out My Window”
Last week Rhode Island creative Almty Ceez made some noise with the visuals to his latest cut “Out My Window”. On the track, Ceez tackles social issues including police brutality, Hip Hop’s lack of support when it comes to the #BlackLivesMatter movement and much more! “Cause everyday is a struggle / try to make it out of my hood / I swear I’ll leave this bitch and never come back if I could / World on fire out my window,” he spits on the chorus. The music video, which consists of a handful of pieces from news reports, interviews, historical moments and other symbolic clips, is a powerful one. The 4-minute video ends with the Facebook Live streaming of US police shooting of Philando Castile. “My music is only talking about the oppressed rising up against the oppressor,” Tupac explains in another clip. It looks like Ceez is taking the same approach! It’s always nice when creatives use their platform for things that really matter! That’s what #MakeUScream is all about!
