POP Music: Grace – “You Don’t Own Me” ft. G-Eazy
It’s time to get familiar! For a while now, I’ve been hearing this new G-Eazy track featuring female vocals and an amazing 60’s-fused production. Long and behold, Australian singer Grace! The track, a popular cover titled “You Don’t Own Me”. The song features a couple verses from the Bay Area’s G-Eazy and explores the theme of an independent woman in a relationship. What amazes me is the way that Grace, G-Eazy and all-star producer Quincy Jones makes the 1960’s track brand new. “Don’t tell me what to do! Don’t tell me what to say! Please, when I go out with you, don’t put me on display,” she croons belting Lesley Gore’s classic. Now that’s POP music! Listen to Grace and G-Eazy’s “You Don’t Own Me” below!
