New Music: Birdman – “Respek”

After running through Power 105.1’s ‘The Breakfast Club’ and airing out Charlamagne The God over some “respek”, Birdman hits the scene with a new single titled “Respek”. On the new track, Birdman enlists Funkmaster Flex, to discuss the controversial interview and claim the respect he deserves while shining light on his current lifestyle. “Tell them ni**as to respek my name,” he says at one point. “Or keep it out of their f***in’ mouth”. During his most recent interview with Hot 97’s “Ebro in the Morning”, Birdman induces the controversy. “And I felt like it was time for me to go sit down and see this man. I am, probably, done sold more records than any company ever, since hip-hop started” — and how he was unable to watch Charlamagne tarnish his legacy without giving the radio personality a piece of his mind. “I’m gonna make sure that man respect me as a man,” he continued. Currently, Birdman is working on his “final story” under Cash Money Records. The album, Ms. Gladys, is due for release June 24th! Check out Birdman’s “Respek” below!
