ICYMI: Laney Lynx’s “Love Sick” Won MTV Freshman Competition!
Meet Laney! Laney Lynx that is! Laney Lynx is a Brooklyn based indie pop musician from Rhode Island. Lynx’s sound can be described as a cross between Katy Perry and Mark Ronsen’s ‘Uptown Funk”. Last week, the pop diva won MTV’s #TheFreshman competition which will keep her new music video “Love Sick” in permanent rotation on mtvU. “Love Sick” is a high-energy pop track about getting over a heartbreak. “No I’m not love sick anymore! Give me a dose of your loving! You’re the cure for the lonely,” she croons over the booming production. In the video, Laney plays a card reader who sets a spell on her lover. After a night of fun and festivities, the lover realizes he’s under a spell and flees the scene. I believe that Laney is the overall package and “Love Sick” can serve as a great platform for her to grow as an international act! What do you think?
