On the new track, Beyonce addresses the haters with a hard-hitting, steady flowing track. “Y’all haters corny with that Illuminati mess/ paparazzi catch my fly and my cocky fresh. I’m so reckless when I rock my Givanchi dress / I’m so possessive so I rock his Roc necklaces,” she spits over the bouncy Boi-1da production. She goes on to address her heritage and African American roots before turning up on the hook. “My daddy Alabama, my momma Louisiana/ You mix that negro with that Creole you get that Texas-bama”. “Formation” serves as the lead single off of Beyonce’s forthcoming sixth album, the follow-up to the massive, record breaking, self-titled album Beyonce. In the video, Beyoncé hits the streets of Louisiana using her platform to speak on the most recent social injustices. It’s a powerful visual that has the singer trending across many media outlets.
