New MV: M.I.A. Releases Epic Visuals For “Borders”

mia_borders_video_indexMIA-borders-videoLast week J2O introduced us to M.I.A.’s new single “Borders” on #BennettKnowsRadio. The track explores the political and social injustices of our society. “Borders … politics … police shots … identities … your privilege … broke people … the realness … the new world? What’s up with that,” the femcee chants over the smooth, electronic production. In the video, M.I.A. sheds light on the life of refugees with an artistic visual that captures them climbing fences, building pyramids and riding boats. I really enjoy both the sounds and rawness of M.I.A’s overlooked work! In today’s society we need more artists that use their platform to stand for something. Currently M.I.A. is working on the follow up to her 2013 album Matangi. Check out M.I.A. in “Borders” below!
