Meghan Trainor Delivers Soul And Sass On ‘Title’ [Album Review]
Last year Meghan Trainor met international success with her massive smash hit “All About That Bass” which peaked in more than 58 countries and spent 8 consecutive weeks on the Hot 100 making her one of 2014’s most successful artists! Today, the blue-eyed soul singer made her debut with Title. The album opens up with “Intro”, a song about this singer/songwriters passion setting the pace for the soulful/pop album. After “All About That Bass”, Meghan slows it down with some smooth, soulful, relationship-exploring tracks such as “Dear Future Husband”, “Close Your Eyes” and “3AM”. Before picking up the energy, Trainor teams up with John Legend on a meaningful track about appreciating the moment titled “Like I’m Gonna Lose You”. The following tracks, some of my favorites, “Bang Dem Sticks”, “Walkofshame” and “Title” are all playful, upbeat tracks where Meghan delivers the hype of the album fused with soul and sass! Before closing out with her second single “Lips Are Movin”, Meghan asks “What If I” on another soulful track. On the deluxe version, the Nantucket singer keeps the energy going with tracks like ” No Good For You”, “Credit” and “Mr. Almost”. Overall, Meghan Trainor’s debut is a breath of fresh air! While I must admit, “All About That Bass” was gimmicky track that may have gotten the best of us this past year, Title is a soulful piece that makes me appreciate this pop singer much more! Be sure to check out Meghan Trainor’s Title!
