Rae Sremmurd Kicks Off 2015 With The ‘SremmLife’ [Album Review]
Rae Sremmurd turned up the final quarters of 2014 with their smash-hits “No Flex Zone” and “No Type”. While the hip-hop duo added to the most recent wave of trap/hip-hop fused music, they met both positive reviews earning the title of the”Criss-Cross of our generation” with their versatile style and negative reviews for their scratchy, “pre-puberty” voices. Today, the duo kicks off 2015 with the release of their debut album SremmLife. The album opens up with “Lit Like Bic” which sets the pace for the rest of the album, that explores these rappers climb to their now lavish lifestyle. Notable tracks include turn-ups such as “My X”, “Up Like Trump” and “Come Get Her”. Collaborations on the album include“Unlock The Swag” featuring Jace of Two-9, one of my favorites, “Throw $um Mo” featuring Nicki Minaj and Young Thug and the hard-hitting track titled “Yno” featuring Big Sean. Rae Srummerd closes the album with “Safe Sex And Pay Checks” reminding listeners that they are just having fun! The Mike Will Made-It executive produced piece is a turned-up record just as the duo’s name backwards and home label Ear Drummers suggest. If you’ve already heard the singles, you’ve got the idea! However, while the “Sremm Life” isn’t for everybody, if your into the singles, the record is worth a listen!
