While Drake won the VMA for Best Hip-Hop video with “Hold On, Were Going Home” at last weekend’s MTV Video Music Awards, he wasn’t there to collect the moon man his self. After Lil Wayne presents Drake with the VMA, the rapper took stage during his ‘Drake Vs. Wayne’ concert in Boston to deliver his acceptance speech.“First of all, I want to thank God. I’d like to also thank my mother, cause I love her very much. I’d also like to thank Lil Wayne because none of this would be possible without that man right there,” he explained to Sunday night’s crowd.“And I’d also like to say, I know this is a hip-hop award and I know a lot of you out there are frustrated, like this is not a hip-hop song. You’re right, I tricked you all. Rappers better luck next year. Thank you!” he continued with a big smirk. While Drake is currently on the road for the ‘Drake Vs. Wayne’ concert, the “Believe Me” rapper is also preparing his forthcoming album, Views From The 6, due for release in 2015! Check out Drake’s hilarious speech below!
