Miley Cyrus “Bangerz” Album Review
Finally! Miley Cyrus drops her highly anticipated album, Bangerz. I believe that Miley chose a necessary name for her album, which perfectly packages her amazing voice along with Mike Will Made-It’s impressive production with a handful of “bangers”. The album opens up with the slow-balled “Adore You” which showcases Cyrus’ beautiful voice. Additional tracks that show off the pop-singers voice include “Wrecking Ball” and “Someone Else” which both showcase Miley’s emotions associated with her past breakup. Other notable tracks include the “#GETITRIGHT”, which Miley successfully rocks out to Pharrell’s production singing, “I’m dancing in the mirror . . . I feel like I have no panties on!” and “Do My Thang” where Miley sings over an amazingly produced beat. The album features some great collaborations! Miley teams up with Britney Spears on, “SMS (Bangerz)”, which I believe is the album’s break-through pop-track that defines pop music and what being a pop star is about. I believe that Britney was the perfect candidate for the track. Miley also works with Big Sean on club anthem, “Love. Money. Party.” which fuses pop and “turn-up” felt music. Other collaborations include Future, Nelly and French Montana. While Miley and Future’s “Darlin” is bearable, the collaborations with both French and Nelly are my least favorite tracks on the album. My favorite track on the album is “Drive” which Miley executes! Miley perfectly delivers the heartbreaking lyrics over a strong dub-step beat that definitely matches the song’s emotion. The production of the album was amazingly creative and crisp! Mike Will Made-It shows that he can successfully produce a diverse range of beats, going from hip-hop and dub-step inspired sounds to pop and country felt sounds. Overall, Bangerz is definitely worth the hype! I’m very excited to se where Miley goes with this album. Bangerz perfectly illustrates an adult Miley Cyrus who has successfully made her transition into the music industry as one of the most strategic and talented female artists in the pop world today!
