This morning Nicki Minaj stopped by The Today Show, in order to promote her album, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded. Before performing the album’s singles “Starships” and “Right by My Side”, Minaj sat down with Matt Lauer to talk about the album. Lauer asked head Barb if she has been influenced by pop icons such as Lady Gaga and Madonna, she responded:
“Well, I don’t really know Gaga, but Madonna, I had the pleasure of working with her, obviously, and I feel like she’s really changed and reinvented not only herself but pop culture. So what inspired me about Madonna is that she’s able to balance all of this with her family and her personal life. And I told her–I was like, “How do you do this,” you know, with your children there and she’s a great mom. You know, she’s just everything.”
Lauer then asked her if she believes the fans will love Roman Reloaded as much as Pink Friday:
“I don’t get the jitters because this one is such a better album. It’s so much more well-rounded. It’s way more songs. It’s ….everything! It is just way more exciting on this album. So I don’t have the jitters. I’m really just excited to go on tour. I’m about to start my world tour this year and my fans have been going crazy. I’m just excited more than anything, more than the album, I mean, eventually people are going to buy the album, you know. But more than anything for me, it’s like the fact that this album is now done, out of the way and you can go –”
Minaj also announced that shes ready to go on a World Tour, so #BarbzandKenz get ready! Check out the interview at the link below!
