One Direction is a boy-pop group seemed to explode over night. The group was created by Simon Cowell through X-Factor. All of the group’s members were solo contestants on UK’s last season of X Factor. The groups average age is just 18, meaning that this group is Justin Beiber x5 (good or bad, take it as you please). The group’s debut single, “What Makes You Beautiful”, was released in September 2011 and peaked at number one in the UK and charted in the top ten in several international markets. A month later their debut album “Up All Night” , became number one in UK’s chart and just a few days ago became number one album on the Billboard’s Top 200. Backstage at Nickelodeon’s Kid’s Choice Awards, Michelle Obama invited them to perform at the White House this Sunday, to which they declined due to their heavy schedule and promotions. Looks like Simon Cowell knows what hes doing and Justin Beiber will have some competition when it comes to his third album, “Believe”.
